James + Kesia

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that’s what you’ve given me. That’s what I’d hoped to give you forever.
— Nicholas Sparks

When I asked Kesia for her and James's love story, she talked about how they aren't super "lovey-dovey" I told her, "hey, it doesn't matter, because it's YOUR love story." Sitting here reading about them, I'm shook! Take a look below:

"This upcoming April, James and I will have been together for 7 years. To think back on when we started at 17 in high school and taking AP classes together, it almost seems like forever ago. To have found my person that I would spend the rest of my life at such a young age, was not something neither of us expected. But over time, it was clear on why we entered each other's lives when we did. It has been an incredible journey. We have not only been there for each other during the ups and downs, but we are also there to support each other as we grow together. It was our last semester of college  at OU when we were traveling to Denver to check out places where we would potentially move to after graduation. James's job offer was what brought us to Colorado, a place where we have grown to call home. Again, this was not something I was expecting...I was absolutely terrified to move to a state I had never traveled to before but on a leap of faith, I decided to give a try. Let me tell ya, God's plan is greater than what you can ever plan for. It was my birthday weekend while we were exploring Colorado with both our families when James told me he had a separate dinner planned for us two the day afterwards. Knowing him, I was thought, "surely this is just a dinner. He knows how much I love food and wouldn't propose while we are dining". Well as we're strolling through downtown to dinner, I noticed James was taking me in the opposite direction of where I thought dinner would be (yes I checked in advance where the restaurant would be and what I wanted off the menu). He then informed  me that he had planned a more private dinner for us at another place. He proceeds to take me to the clock tower smack dab in the middle of downtown Denver. When we arrived, we were taken up to the 17th floor and when we got off the elevator that led us into the actual clock. I was STILL under the impression that he had outdone himself  and we were having dinner. But when I heard the classical music, the rose petals spread out on the floor and the look in his eyes (and no food in sight), it finally clicked. He told me that even though we have known each other a long time, we were at a brink of something new ahead for us and he wanted to continue his life with me and hopefully I did too. As he got down on one knee, I had this overwhelming joy flow over me. With tears in my eyes, I said yes to my best friend and to the best decision of taking new chances. Even in the unexpected moments of life, we never know what great blessings are in store."

So y'all, long story short. Even if you think like you aren't lovey-dovey, your story is unique and it means something special. Thank you Kesia and James for letting me capture your special day. I had such a blast!
